When does a lab puppy get all of its permanent teeth?

My yellow lab puppy is almost 10 months old. He constantly needs something to chew on - whether its a toy or *sigh* the front door when he's outside. He is missing a tooth (or at least there's a space) on the bottom part of his jaw on the right side. Is he still teething? Should he have gotten it in already?

When does a lab puppy get all of its permanent teeth?
Puppies have all of their adult teeth by 7 - 8 months of age. If your dog has a space on his bottom jaw, it's very possible he's missing a tooth - it happens.
Reply:omg i lvoe labs! i like the yellow ones the best! i think within the first year but give them lots and i mean lots of things to chew on espescialy the first 2 years or else they will chew furniture and lol your front door
Reply:Yes,when it gets older.
Reply:he should get all of teeth when he stops teething. meaning he'll chew on anything he can find to knock out his baby teeth so buy him some chew toys.
Reply:My yellow lab didn't stop chewing until after she turned one. Just keep him occupied and happy with lots of toys. Mine tends to like tennis balls and things that squeak, just make sure you get something he couldn't rip to shreds in the first 3 days. (It's happened MANY times with my dog.) Your puppy is still growing and doesn't have to have teeth right away... Personally I think the less teeth he has, the better! Especially considering the front door is involved. Well good luck with your little bundle of energy!
Reply:around 2 years of age
