My puppy broke 4 of his teeth! will it grow back?

my 4 month old puppy just chipped 4 of his front teeth. if i go get it pulled out, will it grow back? and will my puppy have health issues if i just leave the teeth the way it is and just wait for it to fall out?

It might cause discomfort to your puppy but it won't cause medical issues. They will grow back because he still has his adult teeth to come in yet, but they could stay chipped for a while, depending on when his adult teeth will come through. You can get them pulled out if you want but he will probably won't have any teeth growing in there for a while yet.
Reply:ask the vet. pups do have a set of 'baby teeth' like humans, so if he chipped these, it's probably no big deal. but best course of action is to just call the vet and ask. you might not even have to go in. hope the pup does well and learns what not to bite! :)
Reply:your puppy will grow his adult teeth in.

they are given 2 sets: baby and adult, just like us.

Just monitor his teeth, to make sure he doesn't develop any infections.

his body will eventually eject the broken teeth.

make sure it doesn't hinder his ability to eat or drink.

if it does, then take him to the vet.

good luck
Reply:How the hell did your dog chip it's teeth? Take the pup to the vet and ask how serious it is. Something like this requires a hands on opinion.
Reply:no puppies have to lose thier puppy teeth anyway so its fine
Reply:If it is just his puppy teeth I wouldn't worry about it as they will fall out on their own, I wouldn't mess with pulling them unless they are cutting into his lip, tongue etc.
Reply:If your puppy is four months old, I am guessing his front teeth that got chipped may be the ones growing in? I know that once a person at a pet store had her puppy in the shopping cart and it jumped out and broke some teeth, but they were puppy teeth. So it can happen. Puppy teeth will come out soon anyway- esp. the front ones. My concern is whether this is puppy teeth you are talking about. A Vet can tell you and if it is permanent teeth, then a Vet can make the right recommendations of what to do in that case.

For the future, I don't recommend you give your dog any of those store-bought real bones that have bits of dried meat on them and are huge hard cooked and cured bones. Cooked bones break teeth! My German Shepherd dog that I used to have broke a Canine tooth on one of those bones.

Also rawhides given on a regular basis, or any compressed rawhides can be dangerous due to processing and dogs chewing off and swallowing large pieces. Some are hardened using FORMALDEHYDE and others, the white ones, some go through being soaked in bleach.
Reply:your puppy is at the age where he will soon be loosing his baby teeth. i think your puppy will be fine. i watched my dog lose his baby teeth when he was 5 months old, so the teeth your dog chipped are probably baby teeth. ask a vet, you might save on a vet bill by waiting for him to lose those teeth.
