My puppy has lost 4 teeth in 2 days! Is this normal?

I have a staffordshire bull terrier that is 5 or 6 months old, and he has lost 4 teeth in 2 days! His gums have been bleeding a little too. PLEASE HELP ME! Is this normal? What do I do?

And can I keep feeding him dry dog food or should I switch to something soft (temporarily)? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Yes this is completely normal. So stop worring OK. Bleeding is normal too. You can give your pup ice cubes to chew on and no you dont have to change the food.
Reply:well yes it is normal. he is losing his puppy teeth, which will grow into adult teeth. dont worry
Reply:Sounds like he is just dropping his baby teeth, and nothing to worry about. You can put a knot in an old sock, and make it a tug of war game (gently) to help him lose any teeth that might be hanging on by a thread.
Reply:ya dont worry it koo. just losin baby teeth
Reply:Yes, that happened to my dog, too, when she was a puppy. It's just like when kids loose their teeth. It's very normal.

Hope this helps!
Reply:Absolutely normal. I'd be concerned if he DIDN'T lose teeth! Puppies lose teeth just as human babies do. A new set of adult teeth will grow in. And fortunately they will not be so needle-like.

No need to switch foods. Dry is best for their teeth. You may see some bleeding as the teeth come out, do not be concerned.

A rawhide chew can help pull them, however always supervise dogs when giving them rawhides as they may bite off and swallow large chunks, which in turn can swell and cause digestive blockages.
Reply:yes thats normal....
Reply:VERY normal!! Don't worry they lose teeth much faster than us. Unless your puppy is having trouble eating don't change your food. it will actually help strengthen there gums and the chewing sooths them also. Try ice cubes fun and numbing I have gone through this myself on several occasions No Worries
Reply:It's completely normal. If you want, you can pour some chicken broath over his food and pop it in the microwave for a couple of seconds to soften it. Also, pet store sells toys that you can stick in the freezer to numb his gums. I personally recommending getting a toy called "Kong". My dog has had his for 2 years now and it is the only toy he hasnt managed to chew apart.
Reply:By 6 months most pups deciduous teeth are gone. If they don't shed naturally they can be removed at time of spay/neuter.
Reply:Happens with every puppy.
Reply:Yes, it's perfectly normal and so is a little blood. He is teething! He's losing his baby teeth and making room for the permanent ones to come in, just like we did when we were little. It's really nothing to worry about! As far as the food is concerned, he should be fine with the dry food.
