My beagle puppy is loosing her teeth, shes in pain what should i do?
take her to the vet
Reply:give her an ice cube to chew on
Reply:yhis is normal for that age--give her ropes or something frozen to gnaw on Try freezing a kong filled w/ pnut butter
Reply:give her some frozen chewing toy to cool down the gum.

or give her some doggie ice cream which you can get from supermarket.

dogs loosing teeth is like human loosing teeth,

cold thing can cool down the pain.
Reply:All puppies gums are sore when they're teething - don't worry, she'll be ok. What you can do is make sure she has lots of things to chew on. One thing you can do to help ease the pain in her gums is wet an old facecloth, freeze it, then give it to her to chew on.
Reply:There really should be no pain when a puppies teeth come in or fall out. If you really feel the dog is in pain a visit to the vet is needed.
Reply:Give her a lot of love and try to make her as comfortable as possible. Ask your Vet if you can use some Anbesol gel or something on her. Please don't use that stuff on your puppy without asking your Vet first. It could contain products or chemicals that could harm her.

My roomate told me that it would be ok to use Baby OraGel. She says it would be safe since it is used on babies.
Reply:Dogs can safely take aspirin; one baby aspirin (81 mg) for every 10 pounds; 4 baby aspirin equals one adult aspirin (325 mg).

DO NOT GIVE DOGS ibuprophen or tylenol

DO NOT TRY THIS WITH CATS - cats lack the enzymes needed to digest common pain relievers and can die.
Reply:my puppy had the same exact thing. it's just baby teeth. it's natural for dogs. but, if it's really hurting a lot i think you should go to dog's dentist or the vet!
Reply:Losing the teeth is the easy part, getting the new ones is the hard part, just like us. Giving her a soft chew toy to chew on could make all the difference in the world. Then you can also try the same things as used on teething babies. Oragel rubbed on her gums every few hours will no doubt make you her favorite person on earth if shes having trouble teething, stay away from the vet for this one unless you just feel a need to spend money. Also cold stuff could help, but I'm pretty sure she would destroy the freezable teething rings made for humans, one word PETSMART,if it's out their they have it.
Reply:If your pup is less than 6 months old, this is completely normal. Like people, dogs lose their baby teeth and get their adult teeth in. Don't let her chew on anything hard like raw hide, it only makes her gums bleed and her mouth hurt worse. You can feed her wet food while she's teething but make sure to put her back on dry food afterwards. You can try freezing some veggies (the softer the better) or her favorite snack for her to chew on to help make her gums feel a little better. She should be done teething when she is about 6-7 months old.

Hope this is helpful!
Reply:Loosing teeth is more annoying for dogs than painfull. If you see her pawing at her mouth and licking constantly then she may have a tooth thats just hanging there. Give her lots of chew toys. Pigs ears and rawhide bones are good. I personally just reach in and pull them out when my puppies are loosing teeth.
Reply:I am in the UK so unsure of the brands you get, but i use bonjela and calgel on my dog with no adverse effects. If your puppy is in a lot of pain i would still take her to the vet for a check up as there could very well be something else up, puppies put everything in their mouths just the same as babies.
Reply:It's just like a baby teething. Make sure she has lots of toys to chew on, and try freezing a wet washcloth. That really helped my last puppy when he was losing his baby teeth.

Oh, and make sure you put the teeth she loses under her dog bed so the tooth fairy can come and leave her a biscuit. ;-)
Reply:Puppies like things to chew on when their teeth hurt. Try chicken broth ice cubes to soothe her teeth and nylabones just to give her something to chew. We have a cattle dog and that really helped her through the process. you may want to consult your vet but if she's in a lot of pain you may want to try buffered children's aspirin, probably start out with a 1/3 of one pill.
Reply:If it is only a puppy that is normal to loose its baby teeth

but if it a grown up dog take it to the vet
Reply:This is normal. Just give her a good puppy chew bone...
